Additional Waitemata Harbour Crossing

In mid-2010 NZTA gave a multi-disciplinary team of experts just four months to analyse the best option for an Additional Waitemata Harbour Crossing (AWHC), such as a bridge, a tunnel or a combination of both.

The NZTA drew on Resolve Group’s substantial procurement and contract negotiation experience when writing RFP documents and letting the three separate contracts of Planning and Engineering, Economic Advice and Transport and Toll Modelling.

We played a lead role in ensuring the three successful teams were able to collaborate immediately and provided ongoing support to the NZTA project manager in a challenge and facilitation role.

Our work continued on the development of the AWHC Network Plan, which included ensuring that the connections for passenger transport - buses and possibly rail, arterial roads, land use and walking and cycling - are all addressed robustly.
